The Beatles Story has partnered up with The Grammy Museum to produce a new exhibition at Pier Head, ‘The British Invasion: How 1960s Beat Groups Conquered America’. This tells the story of how British musicians came to influence the US music scene. Visitors here have the opportunity to peruse a wide range of exhibits, with displays involving a variety of musical legends including, of course, The Beatles. They can even have a virtual drum lesson with Ringo Starr!
Image Insight have been part of The Beatles Story exhibition since 2013 and we have now grown with them, moving our photo installation from Albert Dock to the new exhibition at Pier Head. Here, our new solution includes a green screen installation within their retail shop, just before the tour.
A significant change to our installation is that, whereas previously, the green screen only enabled photography from knee level up, now, the whole body can be included. This has meant that our range of ‘green screen’ backgrounds can now include an ‘Abbey Road’ photo, with guests able to recreate that iconic, album cover. To this end, all sorts of fun props are provided, including Sgt Pepper-style jackets, guitars and wigs, so that guests can dress up in Beatles’ costumes and really get into the spirit of the 60s music scene.
We think that our photo solution is a fabulous addition to the exhibition. In fact, ‘I’ve got a feeling’ we’ll be working together for a long time to come. (See what I did there?)
